Arcade Fire want Everything Now Canadian indie-rockers Arcade Fire are back atop the charts with their latest album Everything Now. The thirteen tracks are vibrant and really come to life in a nice pair of headphones. On the uptempo track "Signs Of Life," frontman Win Butler reminds us that love is hard and sex is easy. Check them out on tour as they swing through the U.S. and Canada with a big slot at Lollapalooza. As the summer rolls on, it's good to know the iPods are restocked up with new beats. The July Playlist is a good soundtrack to keep the pool parties going all night long.

The Dead Weather blaze on with Dodge and Burn |
The bad news is that the summer is officially over, but the good news is that a barrel of new tunes came rolling in at the last minute.
Stoner-rock supergroup The Dead Weather are heating up again with their new album Dodge and Burn [Sept 25, via Third Man Records]. The foursome of Jack White, Alison Mosshart, Dean Fertita, and Jack Lawrence continue to pump out a huge sound with gritty guitar riffs. On "Cop And Go" lead singer Alison Mosshart delivers with a swagger while the boys on the axes and kit lay down a steady foundation. The whole record continues on with a similar vibe and makes for a fabulous listen. As of now, no tour dates are scheduled for the group.
The joy of the summer has come and gone and it's nice to look back at all the good memories. The journey wouldn't be complete without one last soundtrack to reminisce about all the sunny adventures.

The Smashing Pumpkins visit a Monument To An Elegy |
The presents were plentiful this December and the music world also handed out a few gifts of its own just before the clock struck midnight.
Chicago Illinois alt-rockers The Smashing Pumpkins have been riding high on the waves of their new album Monument To An Elegy [December 5, via BMG]. The nine tracks are laced with synths, hard hitting guitars, and feature Tommy Lee on the drums. Pumpkins' frontman Billy Corgan says he's surprised by the muddled reviews his new effort is getting, but understands the critics said the same thing about his earlier releases. On the cut "Drum + Fife", an acoustic guitar and a scintillating synth-line lead to the album's best work. The band will play big slots at the Lollapalooza 2015 South America festivals in support.
As the year winds down, its nice to reflect on all the great memories, experiences, and awesome tunes of course! The December Playlist may be the last one of the year, but it is still jam-packed with enough fresh tracks to keep the elves busy for next year.
